BCS National Championship
The BCS Championship game between the Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes ended up being a rather tame evening for me. I had a choice between the “wild” party out at BO’s (and I’ve seen the photos and video…I might not have made it out alive!) and a more sane evening at Ed’s. I opted for Ed’s mainly due to the closer proximity of his house.
What else can you say but, “Wow”. That game certainly was a surprise especially after the opening kick off. I don’t know if this proves that the SEC truly has superior athletes/speed or that they wanted it more than OSU or perhaps the truth lies someplace in between. It was a fantastic game to watch (well for UF fans).
The game was cause for a bit of reflection as well. I’ve lived in Gainesville for ten years now. I didn’t care about the first National Championship and really haven’t been a fan of Gator football over the last ten years. About three years ago I slowly started to get into it…how could you not hate Ron Zook! This year I actually tailgated and attended a good six or seven game parties. WTF?!?!
Yes, living in Gainesville has officially gotten to me and I’m not a fan…I even have Gator gear. God forbid, what’s next?
Maybe, just maybe I can convince you to come to a basketball game. You can relive all of your Hurricane basketball memories!
